Below are a series of common questions asked by new (or old) users of the Falco products. Please note that the answers are my own (haggisv) personal opinions, and may not necessarily be endorced or guaranteed by the manufacturer, although some issues and conclusion have been discussed directly with them.
1. Which Falco product or combination of products is best for me?
There is no simply answer for this, as a lot depends on what rubber you use, what speed glue and how many layers you used before, and what changes you require out of the rubber to make it work for you. From some experimentation with the different products, I've listed some senarios of combinations below, which will hopefully give you a good idea of what should work for you:
1a. I want something simple to use, that just gives me a little extra boost in speed and spin in my rubber.
The Falco Tempo Unlimited would be most suitable here. It is used just like VOC based speed glue, apply layers to both the rubber and blade, wait for the specified period and put it together... only needs to be done once a week, and glue does not need to be removed until it really buids up high (as with VOC based speed glue).
1b. I use a hard sponged rubber, and need a lot of sponge softening to make it more playable, and a good speed and spin boost.
Either the Falco Tempo Booster by itself, or in combination with the Falco Tempo Unlimited for extra effect would be appropriate here. The Booster softens the sponge more, so if this is what you need it's a must. The effect of the Booster lasts for about 3 weeks, after which you'd have pull the rubber off and apply (a smaller amount for the same effect) again. Falco Water glue can used to attach the rubber to the blade. This can be cleaned of simply with a wet cloth before the next application.
For an even greater effect, the Falco Tempo Unlimited can be used to glue the rubber onto the blade. The rubber would need to be re-glued every week, but no further booster should be required as the Unlimited should reactivate the Booster as well.
1c. I use a softer sponged rubber, and need a high speed effect but only moderate sponge softening since it's already fairly soft.
The Falco Tempo Unlimited would be most suitable here, possibly with a single layer of booster for some extra softening and effect. It is used just like VOC based speed glue, apply a single layer to the blade, and as many layers as you require on the rubber, wait for the specified period and put it together... only needs to be done once a week, and glue does not need to be removed until it really buids up high (as with VOC based speed glue).
2. Can I use the falco products on a rubber that's been glued before, and still has some glue layers on the sponge?
The Falco Tempo Unlimited seems to be quite effective even if there's a fair bit of glue buildup already on the rubber, although the effect is not quite as good on a new rubber. The Falco Tempo Booster really does need old glue layers to be removed, or it will make a mess and will be less effective.
3. Does the Falco Tempo Unlimited become more effect after the first few gluing?
Yes, as often found with VOC based speed glues as well, the performance will not peak until after the 2nd or 3rd gluing.
4. How do the Falco glues compare to JUIC Ecolo Expander II?
The speed glue effect of the Unlimited and Booster is considerably greater than that of the Ecolo Expander II, and the effect is much closer to VOC based speed glues, and in some cases better. The Ecolo Expander II is more meant for a mild effect and too loosen up rubber, and for a longer period, and is also not as easy to use as the Falco products.
5. Can the drying process be speeded up?
For the rubber I would not recommend this, as the time is required for the liquid to work with the sponge, and complete the required stretching process. For the layer on the blade, a fan, particualrly with some warm air, can dry the glue within a short period, and still seems to retain it adhesive strenght, so this seems a good option.
